THE 23rd ASEAN Air Chiefs Conference (23rd AACC), hosted by the Philippines, was held via video teleconference (VTC) yesterday morning, with air chiefs from ASEAN member states attending.
Myanmar was represented by Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Win. Other participants included the air chiefs of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste and Vietnam.
The meeting opened with welcoming remarks by Maj-Gen Pablo Rustria Jr, Vice-Commander of the Philippine Air Force. A video highlighting cooperation among ASEAN air forces and regional collaboration was also screened.
Maj-Gen Alvin M Hate, Chief of Staff of the Philippine Air Force, then presented the outcomes of the 13th ASEAN Air Forces Education and Training Working Group meeting.
The participating air chiefs exchanged views on the conference theme, “Towards Multilaterally Interconnected ASEAN Air Forces: Acting Together for Regional Stability”.
The meeting subsequently reviewed and approved the conference decisions and the AACC Joint Statement, which were signed by the ASEAN air chiefs.
At the conclusion, the Philippines handed over the AACC commemorative item to the Malaysian Defence Attaché in the Philippines on behalf of General Dato Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan Bin Aris, who will chair the 24th AACC. The Malaysian air chief then delivered remarks of appreciation.
The meeting concluded with a group photograph of the ASEAN air chiefs.
