Viet Nam is a country that has a firm and consistent position regarding Myanmar and is also a country with strong bonds of friendship and good relations with Myanmar, said President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar U Min Aung Hlaing at the meeting with staff and families of the Myanmar Embassy and the Military Attaché Office and scholarship trainees at the Myanmar Embassy in Hanoi, Viet Nam, yesterday morning.
The President noted that, given Viet Nam’s strong emphasis on economic development and its position as one of the leading ASEAN member states in this area, Myanmar should study Viet Nam’s development experience. He urged all concerned to make genuine efforts to contribute to the country’s economic development.
The President stated that the government is striving to promote the development of agri-based industries and boost the national economy by developing manufacturing industries rooted in agriculture and livestock products. Moreover, he added that the government is exerting efforts to increase investment and trade with regional countries and partner countries.
He stressed that staff of the embassy and military attaché office, together with their families, should work collectively through diplomatic channels to further strengthen bilateral relations and promote mutually beneficial economic activities, including export and import trade between the two countries.
After the meeting, the President and his spouse presented gifts and cash awards to embassy and military attaché office staff, their families, and trainees through the Ambassador and the Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air).
The President and his spouse cordially greeted those families and trainees.
