DISCUSSIONS were held on potential opportunities for cooperation between Myanmar and Nicaragua in the creative economy sector, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The talks took place in the meeting room of the Creative Economy Secretariat during the first week of September between Myanmar Ambassador to Nicaragua U Tun Aung Kyaw and Madame Camila Ortega Murillo, General Coordinator of Nicaragua’s National Commission of Creative Economy.
During the meeting, the General Coordinator explained the Nicaraguan Government’s efforts to promote the creative economy to improve citizens’ living standards, as well as the establishment of “Creative Cities”. The Myanmar Ambassador praised Nicaragua’s production of regional products and the socioeconomic development driven by its creative economy and expressed his intention to explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation in this sector.
The meeting was also attended by Secretariat officials, including Secretary Mr Humberto González Calderón, Co-Secretary Mr Luis Morales Alonso and Assistant Secretary Ms Sonia Porras Green. — ASH/TH
