ACCORDING to the observations at 6:30 am MST today, due to the strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the South Bay of Bengal and the strong development of the convective clouds such as rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin and Mon States from 6 September 2026 to 9 September 2026. Squalls with rough seas are likely at time off and along the Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along the Myanmar Coasts. Advisory People should be aware of the strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the South Bay of Bengal and the strong development of the convective clouds such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, flash floods and landslides in the hilly areas and near small rivers and inland water transport and domestic flights. — DMH
