Myanma Pearl Enterprise stated that more than 900,000 pearls were produced between April and August of the 2026-2027 financial year.
Pearl cultivation is carried out across the marine area spanning Kawthoung, Myeik, and Kyunsu townships in Taninthayi Region. There are 13 pearl-culturing camps, including state-owned Pearl Island.
This FY, the enterprise targets holding two international auctions and two domestic sales events.
Myanmar primarily produces the South Sea pearl. Each pearl farm is managed with a target of 100,000 pearls per production cycle. Private pearl cultivation companies are being expanded to increase output.
