A reception commemorating the 81st National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam was held at 6 pm yesterday at the Grand Ballroom of the Meliá Hotel in Yangon, attended by Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung.
Upon arrival, Union Minister U Min Naung and guests were warmly welcomed by Ambassador of Vietnam to Myanmar Mr Nguyen Anh Duc and embassy officials. The ceremony commenced with the playing of the national anthems of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Following the playing of the anthems, Ambassador Mr Nguyen Anh Duc and Union Minister U Min Naung delivered opening remarks. The Union minister and the ambassador subsequently cut a ceremonial cake to mark the 81st National Day of Vietnam and joined the guests for a commemorative group photograph.
The ambassador and his spouse then hosted a dinner reception for the attendees. The event was attended by Yangon Region Minister for Development Affairs and Mayor U Myo Myint Aung, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, heads of diplomatic missions based in Yangon, including ambassadors, chargé d’affaires and military attachés, as well as UN resident representatives and invitees.
