A ceremony to award the winners of the 19th Performing Arts, Anyeint, Drama and Magic Competition organized by the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare took place at the Hsinbyushin Hall of the Transit Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, attended by Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, who presented the overall championship trophy to the winners.

Chairman of the Psychological Affairs and Public Relations Committee Adjutant-General Lt-Gen Zaw Hein presented prizes to the winners in the magic contest.

Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Ko Ko Oo presented prizes to the winning troupes in the choral dance contests.

Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) General Kyaw Swa Lin gave prizes to the winning troupes in the Anyeint contest.

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo awarded the overall championship trophy to No 2 Mobile Public Relations Company.

The prize-winning troupes and artistes demonstrated their best song and dance performances.

The Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and his wife, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) and his wife, and senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief handed cash awards to the regiments and units which participated in the 19th Performing Arts, Anyeint, Drama and Magic Competition.

The Defence Services Commander-in-Chief and party cordially greeted members of the panel of judges, maestros and contestants.

Also present at the ceremony were the Commander-in-Chief (Navy) and his wife, the Commander-in-Chief (Air) and his wife and guests.

In the afternoon, officials of the Directorate of Public Relations and Psychological Warfare awarded prize winners in the respective events.

This year, contestants participated in 21 events including old songs, modern song, stereo songs, Anyeint, dancing, choral dance, duet dance, drama, traditional orchestra, modern band, magic and song composing contests. — MNA/TTA
