A Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Culture, Hotels and Tourism U Maung Myint attended the 20th Ho Chi Minh International Travel Expo and related meetings in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from 25 to 28 August.
The delegation attended the expo’s welcome dinner and Vietnam Night on 26 August, followed by the expo’s opening ceremony at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) on 27 August, where it visited Myanmar’s tourism pavilion and exhibition booths from other countries and tourism-related businesses.
The delegation also participated in the MICE Tourism Forum and the Seventh ACMECS Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, where the Myanmar Union Minister served as chair. The Eighth Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Tourism Ministers’ Meeting and a press conference were also held.
Representatives from 40 countries, including Myanmar, attended the tourism expo, while tourism ministers and officials from ACMECS and CLMV member countries took part in the ministerial meetings. — MNA/ST
