A 138-year-old blower station operated by the Engineering Department (Water and Sanitation) of the Yangon City Development Committee in Botahtaung Township, Yangon Region, was officially designated yesterday as an ancient heritage site with the installation of a commemorative bronze plaque.
At the ceremony, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu delivered an opening address on the occasion of the plaque installation.
The Chief Minister and Deputy Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Aye Tun then unveiled the plaque and inaugurated the site by sprinkling it with scented water.
