ACCORDING to the observations at 6:30 am MST today, are likely due to the strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal,the WellMarked low-pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal – North Odisha coasts, India, and the strong development of the convective clouds, rain or thundershowers are likely to be fairly widespread to widespread in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan States from 18 to 21 August 2026.

Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along the Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along the Myanmar Coasts.
