Chlorination is being carried out in the water supply networks of various townships in Yangon Region to ensure that the prescribed level of residual chlorine, which has disinfecting properties, remains in the water.
Yesterday morning, Yangon Region Development Affairs Minister and Yangon City Development Committee Chairman (Mayor) U Myo Myint Aung, inspected additional chlorination operations at water supply networks in Lanmadaw and Latha townships.
After receiving reports from officials, the Yangon Mayor gave necessary instructions to ensure that residents have adequate access to clean drinking water and remain free from disease, and arranged for the needs to be addressed.
