CHIN State Chief Minister Dr Vung Suan Thang has urged people to adopt healthy lifestyles from school age through adulthood, stressing that good health is essential for both education and work.
He made the remarks at a ceremony to mark the 2026-2027 Academic Year State-level School Health Week, held at the Chin State Government Office in Haka yesterday afternoon.
He said the Ministries of Education and Health are jointly implementing school programmes to promote healthy eating and lifestyles. These include teaching life skills and personal hygiene, providing deworming medicine and iron tablets twice a week, conducting school nutrition programmes, and providing eye and dental health services twice a year.
At the ceremony, awards were presented to outstanding schools for their school health activities. Attendees also watched student performances, a demonstration of personal hygiene practices and an exhibition of school health activities. — District IPRD/KZL
