Tatmadaw stated it had recaptured Kammagyi (Chin) Village on 19 July and Kammagyi (Bamar) Village on 21 July in Khampat Township as part of operations to reopen the strategic Kalay-Tamu road linking Myanmar and India.
According to the statement, clashes occurred during the operations, with the Tatmadaw claiming to have seized weapons, ammunition and related equipment, while anti-regime forces withdrew after suffering casualties.
Tatmadaw affirmed that it was continuing security operations to restore control of the Kalay-Tamu route, which it described as vital for cross-border trade and local economic activities. It added that damaged infrastructure along the route would be repaired in cooperation with relevant authorities and residents.
