THE final matches and prize-giving ceremony of the 2026 Inter-State and Region Karate Championship were held yesterday evening at the National Indoor Stadium I in Thuwunna, Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region.
Officials and guests attended the event, watched the final matches, and presented medals, cash prizes and trophies to the winners of various events, including the men’s and women’s Kumite categories, individual and team Kata events, and mixed team competitions.
Outstanding athletes were also honoured with the Best Female Athlete and Best Male Athlete awards. The Yangon Region teams won the women’s, men’s and overall championship trophies. A total of 145 athletes from 14 men’s teams and 14 women’s teams competed in the championship.
