JHARKHAND Minister for Industries Sanjay Prasad Yadav inaugurated the Jharkhand Pavilion at Bharat Tex 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday. The pavilion showcases six Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged handloom products, highlighting the state’s rich textile heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and the skills of its artisans to national and international buyers. The pavilion features Tassar Silk, Kuchai Silk, Bhagaiya Saree and Fabric, Tumka Chadar, Bhoya Saree and Fabric, and Pancho Saree and Fabric, which represent Jharkhand’s cultural identity and longstanding weaving traditions.

On the occasion, Yadav stated, “Our identity should extend beyond the boundaries of our state and reach national as well as global markets. By showcasing Jharkhand’s rich handloom and textile heritage on international platforms, we aim to create greater employment opportunities within the state so that our youth do not have to migrate in search of livelihoods. More employment will accelerate the economic growth and overall development of Jharkhand.” The Minister added that Bharat Tex 2026 offers an important platform to connect Jharkhand’s traditional textile products with national and global markets, create new business opportunities for weavers and artisans, and integrate the state’s textile sector into the global value chain.

According to the release, Bharat Tex 2026 has become a premier global platform for business, investment, innovation, policy dialogue, and strategic partnerships across the textile and apparel value chain. The event highlights India’s growing global leadership in textiles, fashion, sustainability, technological innovation, investment, and international trade.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Vishal Sagar, Director of the Department of Industries; Preeti, Additional Secretary of the Department of Industries; and other senior department officials.
