DEPUTY Minister for Construction U Myo Myint and members from the rehabilitation and reconstruction committee in Chin State inspected the condition of the Falam-Haka Road on 4 July with instructions to conduct necessary repairs and maintenance of the damaged roads and bridges to ensure smooth transport, to strictly monitor and prevent landslides during the rainy season, as well as to complete the projects on time.

The deputy minister then attended a consultation meeting on rehabilitation and reconstruction work in Chin State at the meeting room of the Chin State Government Office and explained the arrangements to repair the damaged public hospitals, basic education schools, departmental office buildings, furniture, equipment and public buildings in Tiddim, Tonzang and Falam townships according to the type of damage, residents and departmental staff receiving the relief assistances from the State and the State, District, and Township-level rehabilitation and reconstruction committees are supervising the work in their respective sectors.

The deputy minister coordinated the attendees’ reports on rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts and stressed the urgent implementation of these projects. The religious leaders, township leaders, and departmental officials should consistently collaborate for regional stability and development because regional stability is crucial for regional development. — MNA/MKKS
