THE Department of Rural Development, under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development conducted a field inspection to observe the progress of income-generating activities being expanded through revolving funds provided under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Htiwaw Village, Taunggyi Township, yesterday.
Taunggyi Township Department of Rural Development Head U Zaw Win and officials inspected the implementation of systematic agricultural and livestock-breeding activities being carried out with the project’s revolving funds. He met members of the village-level Mya Sein Yaung Village Project committee, reviewed the completeness and accuracy of monthly financial records, and urged them to systematically manage the revolving funds to prevent losses and ensure long-term sustainability.
The project was first implemented for the 2014-2015 financial year, utilizing a total revolving fund of K59 million from the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project fund. Jointly executed by township DRD staff and local villagers, the funds benefit 67 project members under the ongoing disbursement process. Of the total amount, K59 million was provided to members of Htiwaw Village, including 63 members engaged in agriculture and four members engaged in livestock breeding, all of whom are successfully operating income-generating businesses with support from the project funds.
