THE Department of Rural Development held a ceremony to disburse the revolving fund under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project in Yanglaw Model Village, Kengtung Township, yesterday. The funds were provided with the aim of enabling rural households to expand family income-generating activities and to implement village development projects through the increased revolving fund accumulated under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project.
Kengtung Township Department of Rural Development Head U Sai Aung Kham explained that the revolving fund was being provided to enable rural households to expand family income-generating activities and to implement village development projects through the increased revolving fund accumulated under the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project. Project staff then briefed participants on the objectives of the project, interest rates, loan repayment periods, and regulations governing the disbursement of the revolving fund, and afterwards, the revolving fund amounting to K39 million was handed over to members of the Mya Sein Yaung Village Project committee.
The committee members disbursed K39 million of the revolving fund at low interest rates directly to 31 project members as the fifth cycle of low-interest revolving loans. Of the total amount, K22 million was provided to 19 members engaged in agriculture and K17 million to 12 livestock breeders in Yanglaw Model Village.
