The 31st Annual General Meeting of the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs’ Association (MWEA) was held at the Lotte Hotel in Yangon yesterday.
At the meeting, Union Minister for Women’s Affairs Dr Thet Thet Zin delivered an address.
She highlighted that the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs’ Association (MWEA), established in February 1995, has been actively promoting women’s participation and the role of business in the socioeconomic development of the country for the past 31 years.
She stated that the association takes pride in the achievements of its members, noting that 93 Myanmar women have received the Myanmar Women Entrepreneur Award, in addition to recipients of the ASEAN Outstanding Women Entrepreneur Award. She also congratulated the recipients of the Myanmar Women Entrepreneur Awards in advance.
Subsequently, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry U Aye Win, Founder, Patron and Adviser to the MWEA Dr Yee Yee Myint, and MWEA Chair Dr Myat Thida Myint delivered speeches.
