China and Myanmar have, since the establishment of diplomatic relations 76 years ago, trusted and relied on each other with sincerity, and have developed into good neighbouring countries, good friends, and good partners who mutually support one another. Both countries have consistently upheld equality and mutual benefit and have strongly supported each other in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and development interests.
In view of the profound changes taking place in the regional and international landscape, both sides agreed to uphold the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, further carry forward the China-Myanmar “Pauk-Phaw” (fraternity) friendship, and, based on equality, mutual respect, consultation, and mutual benefit, enhance practical and mutually beneficial cooperation across various sectors. They also agreed to continue advancing the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future and to deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

Myanmar and China reaffirmed that they will continue to firmly support each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests and major concerns. China expressed its support for Myanmar in pursuing a development path suited to its national conditions and supported by its people. The Myanmar side, in turn, expressed its support for China in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and national dignity, as well as China’s efforts to maintain national stability, achieve national reconciliation, promote social harmony, and advance long-term peacebuilding.
Myanmar attaches great importance to President Xi Jinping’s proposal to build a community with a shared future for mankind, as well as the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the Global Governance Initiative. It acknowledges and recognizes that these frameworks safeguard the common interests of humanity and make significant contributions to world peace and development.
Therefore, by promoting political friendship and mutual trust, mutually beneficial development, balanced and mutually reinforcing security, and integrated connectivity, and based on the goals of mutual benefit, equality, and win-win cooperation, the two sides will work together to build a China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
Therefore, the Joint Statement on accelerating the building of a China-Myanmar community with a shared future contains comprehensive and wide-ranging agreements across various sectors that will bring benefits to the governments and peoples of both countries. It calls for accelerating the building of the China-Myanmar community with a shared future in order to promote regional peace, stability, prosperity, and sustainable development, advance regional economic integration, narrow development gaps, and foster an open and inclusive region.
