BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and the Bay of Bengal. The weather has a few clouds to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON ON 14 June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State,fairly widespread in Mandalay and Taninthayi regions and widespread in the remaining regions and states, with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, upper Sagaing and Ayeyawady regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon and Rakhine states. The degree of certainty is 100 per cent.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, upper Sagaing and Ayeyawady regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and northern and eastern Shan states. In areas along the movement of cumulonimbus clouds, weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied by rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur, and therefore, it is recommended to be aware of these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally, squalls with rough seas will be experienced in the Delta, the Gulf of Mottama, off and along the Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in a squall may reach 35 miles per hour (mph). Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in the Delta, the Gulf of Mottama, off and along the Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along the Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.Surface wind speed in a squall may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along the Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR THE SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Bago, upper Sagaing, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Kachin, Kayin and Mon states.
