The “Stories for Protected Oceans” event will be held to commemorate World Ocean Day 2026, according to the Goethe-Institut Myanmar.
Jointly organized by the Goethe-Institut Myanmar and the Myanmar Ocean Project, the programme will allow participants to explore stories about the oceans, marine life, its environments, communities, and cultures through comic book readings, panel discussions, and creative activities.
Scheduled for 7 June at Goethe-Institut Myanmar with free admission, the event features a Comic Reading and Knowledge Sharing Session from 1 pm to 2 pm, followed by a Character Making and Visual Storytelling Workshop from 2:30 pm to 4 pm.
Additionally, a Character Making and Visual Storytelling Workshop will be featured. Participants can draw inspiration from ocean-related tales, environmental imaginations, and ideas for protecting underwater ecosystems to create their own short comic strips.
The organizers have announced that applications are open to children, youth, comic enthusiasts, and anyone interested in visual storytelling and environmental awareness education. — MT/ZN
