The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is providing services to thousands of people with disabilities through seven physical rehabilitation centres located in Kachin, Kayin, Shan, and Rakhine states, as well as Yangon, Bago, and Magway regions.
ICRC and its partner organizations also provide prosthetic services, assistive devices, walking aids, wheelchairs, and physiotherapy to help people with disabilities regain their mobility and independence.
Furthermore, ICRC and its partners promote both physical and mental well-being through sports activities adapted for people with disabilities. To support their inclusion in society alongside physical rehabilitation, they also assist beneficiaries in starting small businesses and provide vocational training.
ICRC has announced that all rehabilitation-related services are provided free of charge according to individual needs. It also noted that anyone requiring physical rehabilitation support may contact the ICRC directly.
