A ceremony to clarify the directives issued at the Coordination Meeting 1/2026 between the Union Auditor-General and region and state auditors-general was held yesterday morning at Mya Pan Aing Hall in the Yangon Region Auditor-General’s Office, Ahlon Township, Yangon.

At the ceremony, Yangon Region Auditor-General Daw Khin Mar Cho said that regional audit offices are conducting inspections and preparing reports in accordance with the Union Auditor-General Law to strengthen public financial management. She added that audit offices should not focus solely on financial matters but should also assess whether the activities of departments and organizations genuinely benefit the public, while ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations and procedures. She urged officials to continue striving to build institutions capable of providing constructive recommendations.

She explained the importance of conducting audits in accordance with international auditing standards, enhancing staff capacity and ethical standards, maintaining professional judgement and rigorous review processes, and producing high-quality audit reports.

The ceremony also included presentations of the Best Workplace Performance Award, Best Knowledge Sharing Award, Magazine Contributor Award and Outstanding Management Award. The awards were conferred by the Office of the Union Auditor-General to mark its 89th anniversary. — Nyein Thu (MNA)/KZL
