Union Minister for Transport and for Digital Development and Communications U Mya Tun Oo attended the opening ceremony of Modern Warehouse No 1 operated by Myanmar Agribusiness and General Development Public Company Limited at Plot No 29 of the Thilawa Port area.
The warehouse project was implemented under the supervision of the Myanma Port Authority. The Union minister unveiled the commemorative plaque. During the event, the Union minister said Thilawa ports play a key role in developing transit trade and transshipment businesses that can strengthen the country’s trade sector.
He also urged MAGDPL to continue investing in the remaining three planned warehouses and encouraged other investors in the Thilawa port area to accelerate ongoing and future projects.
After the ceremony, officials viewed exhibitions inside the warehouse, inspected the storage of maize intended for export and visited planned warehouse construction sites.
The Union minister visited the Computer Based Examination Centre at the Department of Marine Administration (Dawbon branch) and instructed officials to systematically implement the CBE system and improve maritime examination standards in line with modern requirements.
