UNION Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr Soe Win received Ms Gwyn Lewis, United Nations Resident Coordinator/Humanitarian Coordinator ad interim in Myanmar, yesterday afternoon at the ministry’s reception hall.
They exchanged views on the process of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the ministry and international non-governmental organizations, humanitarian assistance, visas and domestic travel arrangements for foreign workers, Mandalay earthquake recovery efforts, and mine awareness.
The meeting was attended by officials from the Department of Disaster Management and the Department of Social Welfare, relevant experts, and representatives from the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Yangon.
