The Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held a tender clarification meeting on 27 May for regional development projects to be implemented during the 2026-2027 financial year at the Mon State Department of Rural Development office.

At the ceremony, Chairman of the Tender Committee and Mon State Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Myint Maung Lay delivered the opening remarks.

Following this, Mon State Director of the Department of Rural Development U Saw Myint Tun explained the tender rules and regulations as well as the procedures that participating companies must follow. Attendees also raised questions and discussed matters related to the tender process.

According to officials, projects to be implemented during the 2026-2027 financial year with Union government funding, totalling K1,679.95 million, include six rural water supply projects and nine production road projects.

In addition, projects funded by the Mon State government with a total allocation of K2,984.36 million will include 10 rural water supply projects and 20 rural production road, bridge, and village road projects.

The Mon State Department of Rural Development stated that the projects will be implemented within the current financial year through contracts awarded to successful tender-winning companies across townships under the department’s supervision. — Maung Khaing (Rural)
