ACCORDING to the Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation, Myanmar defeated China in their opening group match of the Regu (three-player) event at the 2026 Sepak Takraw World Cup, being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 16 to 23 May.

Myanmar secured a straight-set victory over China, winning 15-4 and 15-8. The team comprised Aung Aung, Ye Htet, Thant Zin Tun, Min Thant Thu, and Han Win Htut.

Myanmar is placed in Group C alongside Vietnam, China, and Indonesia. The remaining group-stage matches will be played on 17 May, with Myanmar scheduled to face Vietnam and Indonesia on the same day.

The Myanmar delegation is led by Head of Delegation U Aung Myint Myat (Vice President, Myanmar Sepak Takraw Federation), Manager U Myint Lwin Htay, and coaches U Kyaw Min Soe and U Aung Myo Swe. The squad includes Zin Min Oo (Ar Dit), Thant Zin Tun (Dat Lone), Aung Aung (Aung Gyi), Aung Myo Kyaw (Myo Lay), Shein Wanna Zaw (Shein Lay), Yan Paing Oo (Kyaung Taik), Ye Htet, Han Win Htut (Anku), Thet Paing Soe, Min Thant Thu, Chit Lwin Po, and Shin Thant Naung.
