THE Myanmar tag ball team returned after securing three bronze medals at the 6th Asian Beach Games Sanya 2026, held in China from 23 to 27 April.

Led by Vice-President U Soe Moe Kyaw and U Chit Ko Ko, the 12-member sports team, including officials, coaches and players, arrived back at Yangon International Airport at 10 am yesterday, where officials from the Ministry of Sports, the Department of Sports and Physical Education, and family members welcomed them back.

In the Men’s Doubles event, Thailand won first place, Iraq second, while Myanmar and Lebanon shared third place. In the Women’s Doubles event, Thailand secured first place, DPR Korea second, while Myanmar and Cambodia shared third. In the Mixed Doubles event, Thailand again claimed first, DPR Korea second, while Myanmar and China shared third place.

A total of 13 countries competed in the tournament, including Thailand, DPR Korea, Iraq, Lebanon, China, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei and Kuwait. — Bala/KZL
