If there is no peace and stability in the country, development activities cannot be carried out in any way. Only when peace is ensured and nationwide stability is achieved can development work be implemented. Otherwise, it would be like construction efforts being carried out at the front while destructive activities follow behind.
At the Union Government meeting held the other day, the President designated the period from 20 April to 31 July as the Union Government’s 100-day plan implementation period. He stated that, for the successful implementation of this plan, it is most important to carry out peace processes to ensure peace and stability in the country.

As part of the government’s 100-day plan, the President has invited both Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) that have signed the NCA and those that have not yet signed to attend a dialogue to be held before 31 July. In addition, the government has also extended invitations to NCA-signatory groups that have not met with the government over the past five years, such as the KNU, CNF, and ABSDF, in addition to PDF, to participate in the dialogue. However, the President also pointed out that it would be wrong if, under the name of peace, unrealistic demands are made, and actions are taken merely to strengthen and sustain one’s own organizations.
Regarding the EAOs, the President stated that there are 43 agreements of Union Accords that were reached after the EAOs signed the agreement. The current government’s 100-day plan to discuss dialogue processes and Union Accord matters in the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw is an important step towards national development and is expected to bring about significant changes for the country. As a result, it is being warmly welcomed by all.
Since signs of peace and stability are beginning to emerge across the country, all relevant parties who will participate in the discussions are urged to act with consideration for the interests of the nation and the entire people. Those stakeholders have to carry out their responsibilities with the country’s interests and the public’s welfare in mind, and it should be prioritized above personal or group interests.
Therefore, all stakeholders must firmly adhere to the principle that their own aspirations should align with the aspirations of the country and be in the form of proposals and discussions that can benefit the entire population. In every dialogue, it is necessary to base efforts on sincerity and openness and to work toward achieving outcomes that will benefit the country and its people.
