THE Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) has announced that the Myanmar U17 Women’s Team departed for China on 18 April to undergo final preparations for the upcoming 2026 AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup, which will be hosted by China.
MFF arranged for the squad of 23 players, led by Japanese Head Coach Ms Kumiko Tashiro, to arrive more than 10 days before the tournament for preparations. The team is scheduled to play warm-up matches against a Chinese women’s team and the Philippines U17 Women’s team.
In Yangon, the squad played friendlies against the India U17 team and weekly matches against Myanmar League women’s clubs. The MFF noted that players have undergone systematic gym training, with special attention to nutrition to adapt to China’s diet and climate.
Myanmar has been placed in Group A alongside host China, Thailand, and Vietnam. Their match schedule is: Myanmar versus host China at 6 pm local time on 1 May, Thailand at 2 pm local time on 4 May and Vietnam at 6 pm local time on 7 May.
With three groups, the top two teams from each group, along with the two best third teams, will advance to the quarterfinals. All matches, including Myanmar’s fixtures, will be broadcast live on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) official YouTube channel: https://gtly. ink/0wUF3L0uo.
