Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, selected as Vice-President by the group of elected Pyithu Hluttaw representatives, was elected as President by the Presidential Electoral College comprising all Pyidaungsu Hluttaw representatives at the presidential election on 3 April 2026. Hence, the New National Democracy Party, the Board of Trustees of Botahtaung Pagoda, the China-Myanmar-Economic Cooperation and Development Promotion Association (CMECDPA), the Myanmar-Japan Friendship Association, the Myanmar Women and Children’s Life Promotion Association, the Myanmar-Russia Friendship Association, the Myanma Peace and Poverty Alleviation Association (MPPAA), the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, the Sichuan-Chongqing Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, the Myanmar-(China)Jiansu Chember of Commerce, the Myanmar Shandong Chamber of Commerce, the Myanmar Jiangxi General Chamber of Commerce, the Myanmar Fukien General Chamber of Commerce, the Myanmar Guangdong Chamber of Commerce, the Myanmar Yunnan (China) Chamber of Commerce and the Myanmar-Lao Friendship Association issued the special congratulatory messages over the election of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing as President.
