Chinese FM says to work with Bahrain to promote end of war

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said Thursday that China stands ready to work with Bahrain to promote the end of war, restore peace and achieve lasting stability in the Middle East.

Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, made the remarks in a phone call with Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.

Trump threatens to hit Iran “extremely hard”

While saying the United States is “nearing completion” of its core objectives in Iran, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday night threatened to hit Iran “extremely hard over the next two to three weeks”, a timeline he has recently set for ending the monthlong war.

“I can say tonight that we are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives very shortly. We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages where they belong,” Trump said in a primetime address to the nation.

Iran condemns deadly US bombing of sports hall

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei on Thursday condemned a US attack on a sports hall in the southern Fars province, which killed 21 teenagers, calling it a “despicable war crime”.

In a post on social media platform X, Baghaei said the strike on 28 February marked the combat debut of the US Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), which exploded above the crowded hall in the city of Lamerd, “dispersing thousands of lethal fragments (tungsten pellets) to maximize casualties”.

Iran vows unrelenting war until “enemies” surrender

Iran’s main military command, Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said on Thursday the war will continue until the “enemies” surrender, according to the semi-official Fars news agency.

The headquarters spokesman Ebrahim Zolfaghari warned of “more crushing, expanded and devastating actions” in response to the US and Israeli attacks.

Strikes across Iran hit civilian infrastructure, compounding relief needs as Middle East aid workers struggle with access constraints, UN humanitarians said on Wednesday.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said the airstrikes in Iran have severely affected essential services.
