IN IMPLEMENTING the multiparty democratic system chosen by the people, the State must be built through the three pillars – the executive, legislative, and judicial branches – while ensuring mutual checks and balances among them. All efforts undertaken must be guided solely by the national interest for the country’s development and progress.

At a time when successive national leaders are striving to enhance the State’s interests and development, the success of nation-building efforts is of critical importance. For these efforts to succeed, nationwide peace and stability must prevail. Only then can development activities be carried out across all regions of the country. As long as some disrupt and undermine the State’s initiatives, efforts to advance the nation will not achieve success. As a consequence, the benefits of development will not be enjoyed equally by the entire population.

Various groups and organizations within the country are acting in accordance with their own stances and positions. However, it is now time to reassess how many of their actions and stances truly benefit the public as a whole. It is necessary to reconsider whether acts such as the disruption and destruction of infrastructure, damage to the lives and property of civilians, and armed conflicts are beneficial to the country in either the short or long term.

As a democratically elected government is set to emerge, it is necessary to reassess whether the paths being pursued and the directions being taken are aligned with the current situation. Only when there is stability and peace at the regional level can there be nationwide stability, allowing citizens to live in peace and well-being. It can be understood by all that a stance is only correct if it can bring about stability and peace for one’s region and ethnic communities. The absence of stability leads to armed conflicts, forcing civilians to sacrifice their lives and limbs, and in doing so, writes a painful chapter in the nation’s history.

Therefore, every citizen and every organization should not prioritize only their own self-interest, but should act with selflessness in undertaking all actions that benefit their region, the country, and their fellow citizens. Whatever actions their organizations take are, in effect, writing their own history. That history will be judged by future generations based on the country’s development, its stability and peace. Hence, the present time is a valuable opportunity for all citizens and for various organizations with differing beliefs to make their best efforts in shaping a positive legacy for their nation and its people.
