NORTH Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen a test of an upgraded solid-fuel engine with enhanced maximum thrust, state-run media said Sunday, believed to have been developed for intercontinental ballistic missiles.
The ground jet test of high-thrust solid-fuel engines using the composite carbon fiber material was a part of the country’s new five-year national defence development plan, which “set the steady upgrading of strategic strike means as a major goal,” the official Korean Central News Agency said.
Kim last inspected a test of a solid-fuel engine in September 2025.
