The blood donation project organized by MPT could encourage more than 10,000 blood donors and supply nearly 9,600 blood bags for saving lives, said MPT.
As a commitment to support the public health sector and promote a voluntary spirit among the community, the blood donation was organized successfully for the 18th time on 27 February.
Together with MPT staff, more than 140 blood donors participated in the blood donation event at the training centre of the Myanma Posts and Telecommunications. The event aimed to raise awareness of the importance of regular blood donation, which can save lives and produce health benefits.
Since its inception in 2016, the blood donation project has attracted the support of up to 10,000 donors, including MPT staff. These donors have supplied nearly 9,600 lifesaving blood bags, demonstrating MPT’s steadfast effort for the public healthcare, one of the most important sectors in Myanmar.
“This 18th time of blood donation reflects MPT’s unwavering commitment to raising awareness of the health sector and encouraging voluntary spirits. I really thank all participating blood donors, and I feel proud of our collective effort to save many lives. Through this cooperation, I hope the public knows how much a blood donation is productive for themselves but also for the community, so that more and more people want to participate in voluntary works,” said Mr Hiroyuki Okai from MPTJO.
As a part of CSR in health, MPT has initiated CSR projects such as health education programmes in cooperation with well-known hospitals, and it has also provided public health knowledge through MPT4U and social media pages for people across Myanmar.
