NORTH Korean leader Kim Jong Un’s daughter has entered the “internal appointment stage” on course to be designated his successor, South Korea’s spy agency told lawmakers in a closed-door briefing in parliament Thursday, citing her continued public prominence.
According to Lee Seong Kweun from the parliamentary intelligence committee, the National Intelligence Service based the assessment on Kim’s daughter, known in South Korea as Kim Ju Ae, attending Air Force Day events and visiting the Kumsusan Palace
of the Sun, as well as recent indications that she is providing input on certain state policies.
“The NIS plans to closely monitor the upcoming party congress and related events, specifically focusing on whether Kim Ju Ae
attends the proceedings, the level of protocol status afforded to her, the use of symbolic titles or her real name, and any signs within
the party rules that suggest a formal succession plan,” Lee said.
