BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF 21 SEPTEMBER 2025: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine and northern Shan states, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Magway regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining regions and states with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Kayin and Mon states. The degree of certainty is 100 per cent.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Sagaing and Ayeyawady regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, and (southern and eastern) Shan states. In the area along the cumulonimbus clouds, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied by rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur, and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance of these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasionally, squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in the Deltaic, the Gulf of Mottama, off and along the Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35-40 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet in the Deltaic, the Gulf of Mottama, off and along the Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along the Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 miles per hour. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet off and along the Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR THE SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase in rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyawady and Taninthayi regions and Kayin and Mon states.
