The Myanmar movie ‘Upadan’ will be screened at the ASEAN Plus Film Festival 2025 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The festival is underway in Prague from 4 to 10 September, featuring films representing ASEAN countries, and Myanmar will showcase ‘Upadan’ as part of the lineup.
The film’s story and screenplay were written and directed by Maung Aung (Chemistry), while director Vann Gyi oversaw production for Zeyar Shwe Pyi Film. The cast includes Khaing Htoo Tha, Zarti, Nan Su Oo, May Thin Zar Oo, Academy Khin Zar Chi Kyaw, and Academy Cho Pyone, among others. The film festival was attended by Dr Htun Naung, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Myanmar to the Czech Republic. Speeches were delivered by Mrs Rina P Soemarno, the rotating Chair of the ASEAN-Prague Committee and Ambassador of Indonesia, as well as Mr David Kaspar, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Czech Republic, as a special guest of honour.
