To mark the upcoming 78th Martyrs’ Day on 19 July, preparations are carried out at the Bogyoke Aung San House Museum in Natmauk, Magway Region, according to Daw May Myintzu, the curator.

She said that schoolchildren, students and the public are expected to visit the museum on Martyrs’ Day and various exhibits are readied for the occasion. These include historical photos and personal belongings of Bogyoke Aung San’s parents, U Pha and Daw Su, as well as childhood photos of Bogyoke, images from his university days and records of his activities as a national leader. The museum is also preparing to showcase key excerpts from his speeches.

Artworks and essays that win prizes in the Martyrs’ Day commemorative competitions will also be displayed on boards for public observation.
