ALL citizens must actively participate in the nation’s development, and also work together — consulting and coordinating with one another — to address the challenges they face and to collectively build what is appropriate and necessary by recognizing the true situation of the country.
They work together on the areas where they share common views and engage in dialogue and negotiation to resolve differences. Treating the nation’s interests as their goal is of utmost importance. The participation of international friends who can provide valuable suggestions and assistance in the peace process also constitutes significant support for the peace-building efforts.
Building a democratic nation is not merely a public aspiration — it is a shared responsibility. When there is an opportunity to follow the democratic path, resorting to armed struggle to demand one’s desires, especially when fueled by ethnic or regional bias, runs counter to democratic principles. This must be taken seriously by all. Aspirations should be openly discussed, agreed upon, and implemented through the respective Hluttaws.
In order to realize democracy, stability and peace are essential requirements. Everyone desires a society in which all ethnic groups enjoy unity, fairness, and economic and social security. Through peaceful living and productive work, people can achieve progress in their lives. To make this a reality, it is crucial for all parties to come together, engage in open and honest dialogue, and exchange views transparently.
In the peacemaking process, it is important to avoid foreign interference and to carry out the process free from internal sabotage and destructive influences. Only when ethnic brothers and sisters come together in the spirit of Union and seek solutions through political dialogue can genuine and lasting peace be successfully achieved.
The government has repeatedly invited ethnic armed organizations and other armed groups that are opposing and attacking the nation and urged them to abandon the armed struggle line and instead resolve political issues through political party activities and electoral processes by peaceful political means.
In the effort to build a strong Union, ending internal conflicts and achieving lasting peace is of utmost, even life-or-death, importance. In order to implement national reconciliation and peace processes both before and after the election, it is essential to build mutual trust among all parties. The government has repeatedly extended invitations to resolve political issues through political means. Since political solutions can only be found through dialogue at the negotiation table, the door to peace talks is always open, and such discussions are consistently welcomed.
