THE Myanmar Social Relief Organization of the Mandalay Region Committee will organize and open a speedboat driving course at its office at the end of May.

It is aimed to help search and rescue operations in floods and to produce efficient and highly skilled rescuers.

Those who wish to attend must have completed the basic rescue training, be able to swim, and be willing to perform meritorious deeds for rescue in water. Priority will be given to those who have worked with the regional committee during the rescue period. Participants must be between 20 and 40 years old and must meet the requirements.

It will be from 8 am to 5 pm from 25 to 30 May, lecturing with practical exercise on swimming assessment, rescue speed boats, engines, inflatable boat, inflatable+ fibre speed boat, fibre speed boat, aluminium speed boat driving and precautions, 18 hp / 30 hp / 40 hp / 50 hp / 60 hp engine usage and precautions, accidents and solutions, and long-term maintenance methods.

All teaching aids will be provided by the organization, but the participants will have to pay half of the fuel costs for the speed boats, it said.
