ONE of the largest international weapons exhibitions, IDEX 2025, will open on Monday in Abu Dhabi, with Russian manufacturers planning to present “top-end equipment” there, including a number of foreign premiers.

IDEX will be held for the 17th time in 2025. The NAVDEX naval exhibition will be held in parallel for the eighth time. According to the organizers, 1,565 companies from 65 countries will be represented here this year, 41 national pavilions will be organized on the sidelines of the exhibition.

Rostec’s High-Precision Systems, Kalashnikov, Uralvagonzavod and Shvabe will present almost 200 samples of “top military equipment”, Bekkhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of Rostec’s arms, ammunition and special chemicals cluster, told Sputnik.

Rosoboronexport will traditionally act as the organizer of the unified Russian exposition.

Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov arrived in the UAE to participate in the exhibition, his office reported earlier. It is planned that he will hold a number of bilateral negotiations here as part of his working trip.

Also, the joint Russian stand will showcase the Kornet anti-tank system with a remote control, the Krona-E air defence system, new loitering munitions Kub-2-1E and Kub-2-2E, the Berezhok combat module, and the RPL-7 light machine gun with a belt drive. For the first time, new versions of the AK-12 and AK-15 assault rifles will be shown — shortened and compact versions.

The UTS-800 training aircraft and the Forpost-RE combat drone will be presented abroad for the first time at IDEX 2025, Ekaterina Zgirovskaya, a spokeswoman for the Ural Plant of Civil Aviation (UZGA), told Sputnik.
