PRESIDENT Droupadi Murmu on Friday paid her last respects to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence in Delhi. During her visit, she offered condolences to his family members.
In her condolence message, President Droupadi Murmu expressed deep respect for former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, recognizing him as a rare politician who excelled both in academia and administration. She highlighted his pivotal contributions to India’s economic reforms, his unblemished political career, and his humility. President Murmu mourned the loss of one of India’s greatest sons and extended her heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and admirers.
Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankar, along with his wife, Sudesh Dhankar, also paid their respects, calling Singh a distinguished economist who transformed India’s economic landscape. Vice-President Dhankar praised Singh for his role in the 1991 economic liberalization, which opened new avenues for growth and prosperity.
