MYANMAR Police Force said six suspects were shot dead during an arrest for their connection with abducting one man, the owner of OK money transfer store, in Maekhaung ward of Tachilek Township, Shan State (East), together with weapons, drugs, and other materials.

On 13 December morning, three men (still investigating) arrived in front of the house of U Yan Htin Chan, owner of OK money transfer store on Bogyoke Street, Maekhaung ward of Tachilek Township, by Toyota Crown Royal Saloon, and arrested U Yan Htin Chan.The security forces conducted an operation to rescue the victim and arrest the suspects according to the tip-off.

Security forces received a report that the suspects were residing at No (Pa Sa-1/270) in Sinphyumin Street, Parset ward in Tachilek Township, and raided the house at 5:30 pm on 18 December.

During the raid, the suspects exchanged shots with the security forces to escape from that house, and six male suspects including Kyan Bi Yin (still identifying) and Maung Maung Oo (still identifying) were shot dead. Moreover, one Zoraki M906-T.380 pistol, four bullets, one magazine, one M-16 gun, 17 bullets, one magazine, six number plates of vehicle, two bulletproof vests, one security force uniform, one raincoat, one sweater, three hats, one ID card, two driving licences, four 5.56 empty bullets, four empty bullets of pistol, one SHN-12 7K-9997 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon, three mobile phones, 65,000 WY stimulant tablets, and victim U Yan Htin Chan was rescued.

Six offenders were shot dead during the arrest and action was taken under the law. The people are urged to report to authorities regarding the insurgent movements.
