PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday highlighted the impact of Indian diaspora in the Caribbean nation of Guyana and said that ‘a Mini India’ also exists in Guyana, where people of Indian origin have become leaders in politics, business, education, and culture.

The remarks by PM Modi came during the 116th episode of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and following his official state visit to Guyana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Guyana, the first by an Indian PM in 56 years, highlighted the historical and cultural bonds between the nations.

He celebrated Guyana’s vibrant Indian diaspora, tracing its roots to indentured laborers 180 years ago. PM Modi praised efforts in Oman to preserve Indian family histories dating back to 1838 and acknowledged cultural initiatives like translating the Upanishads into Slovak.
