The 2024 Mid-Year Myanmar Gems Emporium continued on its fifth day yesterday morning at the Maniyadana Jade Hall in Nay Pyi Taw, attracting both local and international gem traders. The traders explored the displayed jade sets in the designated areas of the hall.
Jade sets numbered 1 to 850 were sold through open tender to the gem traders, and 613 lots had been sold.
In the afternoon, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi observed the activities at the emporium and expressed his support.
Additionally, local and international gem traders inspected jade lots numbered 851 to 1,700, which will be sold on the sixth day, and submitted their prices into the tender boxes. In the evening, officials reviewed the tenders, and the sold lots will be announced on the morning of 23 November.
The 2024 Mid-Year Myanmar Gems Emporium is scheduled to run from 18 to 27 November. A total of 208 pearl lots, 62 gem sets, and 613 jade lots have been sold to local and international merchants. The remaining jade lots will be sold through the open tender system. A total of 2,240 jade lots from Group C are being sold through the open tender system to promote MSME entrepreneurs, and only local gem traders are allowed to purchase using Myanmar currency.
