More than 340 Japanese companies will recruit up to 1,000 Myanmar workers, according to the list of demand letters issued by the Myanmar Embassy to Japan on 15 November.

The embassy has carried out timely verifications of demand letters received from the Ministry of Labour via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it said.

It verifies whether labour supervisory companies and factories or companies which offered jobs in Japan are officially established or not, and re-submits its findings and remarks to the Ministry of Labour through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It is about 341 demand letters and according to it, over 340 Japanese companies will provide jobs for more than 330 Myanmar male workers and more than 700 Myanmar female workers.

On 30 October, the embassy announced that up to 430 Japanese companies would recruit around 1,400 Myanmar workers.
