THE Greater Mekong Subregion seminar on cooperation for the prevention and control of infectious diseases, along with a paper-reading session on malaria prevention and control in Myanmar, took place in Dali City, People’s Republic of China, from 11 to 13 November.
Director-General Dr Tin Tun of the Department of Human Resources for Health, and Deputy Director-General Dr Tun Tin of the Department of Public Health, attended the events.
During the seminar and symposium, participants discussed strategies for preventing and controlling infectious diseases such as malaria, dengue fever, other tropical diseases, and tuberculosis. They also explored cooperation between universities in both countries on public health training, research, teaching, and disease prevention, as well as the acquisition of professional and technical assistance.
