RFA Burmese intentionally circulate fake news on its Facebook Page, claiming that the female political prisoners of DaikU prison are suffering from skin disease on 22 October.
According to a prison official, there are no political prisoners at DaikU prison but the prisoners who have broken the certain existing laws. Additionally, the claim that over 100 female inmates are suffering from a skin disease is unfounded. But, there are only 40 inmates who are suffering from normal Eczema, and they are receiving proper medical treatment twice a day. Moreover, the prison hospital superintendent also conducts health awareness programmes regarding personal hygiene.

There are three water tanks that can hold 2,800 gallons each are filled with water and are cleaned once a week. Moreover, the prison officials supervise the cleanliness of dormitories and toilets in addition to water tanks.

Moreover, the medicines sent by the families of inmates are delivered to the inmates properly under the supervision of health staff, and the claim that the medicines are returned to the families is invalid.

Prisoners in poor health are under the medical treatment of the superintendent and health staff daily, and are transferred to general hospitals in a timely manner if necessary.
RFA Burmese reportedly spread false claims, defaming the prison staff.
